Due at 1st meeting

Self-Assessment Results and Personal Statement Essay - Complete the SmarterMeasure and VARK Self-Assessments.  Based on the results AND your personal thoughts on why you registered for the course, your expectations for the course and your own knowledge about your individual strengths and weaknesses, write a 2-3 page paper about your academic skills in need of improvement.

 

Due at 2nd meeting

Smarthinking Feedback - Students will need to create a smarthinking account (www.esc.edu/smarthinking) and submit their first paper for review. 

 

Due at 3rd meeting

Written Proposal – Before the third study group meeting, students will submit their proposal for their term long project. The proposal will include any initial ideas for their presentation activities, research needs, etc. organized in a 2-4 page paper.

 

Due at 4th meeting

Project Management Plan

 

Due at 5th meeting

Peer Feedback Coordination

 

Due at 6th meeting

Class Presentation – Each student will present to the class on their chosen topic. Presentations should be between 10-15 minutes and should include the use of powerpoint, interactive activity and audience take away  Students will also need to create their own presentation feedback questionnaire for their audience to complete.  Students should bring enough copies for each participant.

 

Due at Individual Meeting

1. Final Project - Students will include all previous assignments, any other materials from presentation, powerpoint (choose handouts, 3 per page) and a 2-3 page paper reflecting on your journey through the class and your plans for academic success. 

2. Academic Eye Journal with at least 6 entries, one of which must be based on 2 attended workshops
